~Community Leaders~
In this lesson we will be using the following: Hats, gloves, play clothes, badges, masks, number and color tools.
In this lesson the children will be learning about the difference between short/tall and big/small as well as long/short.
At the start of the lesson the children will listen to a story called "I Am Going To The Doctor To Take A Look and See."
At the start of the lesson the children may only be able to name a few of the community leaders. (Earlier)
As the lesson continues the children may recognize a few of the community leaders as well as describe their jobs (Middle)
At the end of the lesson the children will be able to recognize their community leaders, describe their jobs, and also be able to know some of the emergency numbers. (Later)

During the lesson the children may talk about an encounter that they have had with a community leader.(Strategy #1)
As the lesson continues the children will be able to talk about family members with community jobs. (Strategy #2)
By the end of the lesson the children may talk about an encounter that they had with a community leader as well as talk about a family member that is a community leader. (Strategy #3)

As the lesson comes to a close the children will children will be given a three minute warning. The bin will then be placed in the center for the clean up process. Children will then walk to the next center pretending to climb a rope.
Children will discuss and share what they know and learn about community leaders.
