In this lesson the children will be using the following materials: markers of different colors and construction paper.
In this lesson the children will learn different colors, how to use a pencil, and different formations. (Curriculum Content)
At the start of the lesson the children will listen to a story called "Harold and His Purple Crayon." (Opening Statement)
At the start of the lesson the children may not know their colors or how to use markers correctly.
As the lesson goes on the children may know some of their colors and how to use markers correctly.
As the lesson continues on the children may know their colors and how to hold their markers correctly and how to draw pictures.

When we first do the lesson the children may look at the blending of the colors. (Scaffold #1)
When we do the lesson again the children may not only look at the blending of the colors but they will also look at the pictures they have created. (Strategy #2)
When we come back and do the lesson a third time the children may not only look at the blend of colors and the art that they have created but also they will see the pictures in them as well. (Strategy #3)

As the group time comes to an end the teacher will click the lights on and off to mark the five minute clean up time. The children will then put the materials in the container before moving onto the next station. (Warning)
Before the next activity the children will discuss their drawing and name some of the colors that hey have used. (Follow Up Ideas)
