Originating Idea-Sense of Taste
In this lesson the children will be using: apples of different colors and sizes, plastic knives, paper plates, and apple sauce.
In this lesson the children will learn: numbers, taste (sweet/sour), colors, fraction, big and little.
At the start of the lesson the children will repeat the poem "Way Up High In The Apple Tree."
At the start of the lesson the children may look at the different colors of an apple and ask questions before the taste them.
As the lesson continues the children may taste the different colored apples and touch the texture.
By the end of the lesson the children may taste the different colored apples and associate it with apple sauce.

As the lesson comes to an end the children will place their places and wipes in the bins at the center of the table. After which the children will their hands to be sent to the new station.
In the next station the children will gather in small groups and share what they learned about their sense of taste. The children may also learn about foods that are made with apples.
