~Dancing With Streamers!~
For the materials of the lesson the children will be using streamers of different colors and sizes!
In this lesson the children will learn not only colors but also learn how to move slow and fast, their numbers, and other special awarnesses as they twirl their streamers together.
At the start of the lesson the children will be introduced to the new activity by singing the song "The Rainbow Song" which is sung by the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star:
Red and orange, green and blue
Shiny yellow and purple too!
All the colors that we know live up in the rainbow!

When the children first begin the lesson they may not be familar with how to dance with the streamers so when they will only twirl around with their streamers as they figure out how to use them.
After using the streamers for awhile the students may not only end up twirling around with the streamers but they will also dance around with their fellow classmates.
Once the children adjust to using the streamers not only will they dance and twirl they may also start to move the streamers in different ways and learn new dance movments.

When the children first get their streamers they will want to imitate the movement of the streamers with their bodies.
As they continue to learn to use the streamers they may learn to use the streamers to represent their expressions in simple ways.
At the end of the lesson the children may use movements in complex ays such as twirl, sway, and jumping.

At the end of the activity the music will come to an end and the children will put their streamers in the bin that the teacher that has set out for them. The children will then lay on the floor for a two minute cool down before tip toeing over to the new activity center.
At the new station the children will discuss what they enjoyed most about the dancing and how they felt while doing it.
